Weather forecasts show that precipitation from Winter Storm Enzo is expected to start tonight and end around mid-day on Tuesday, with the heaviest snow in the overnight hours.
Trash pickup in Piney Point is cancelled for Tuesday.
Memorial Villages Police Dept. and Village Fire Dept. have made plans for the expected winter storm. Both Police and Fire have increased staffing in dispatch and on the reserve engine at VFD.
Travel will be close to impossible on Tuesday. Residents are advised to plan ahead and stay off the roads as much as possible until streets are cleared of snow and ice. Many officials have recommended staying off the roads over the next 36 hours.
Memorial Villages Water Authority 713-465-8318 is available 24 hours to respond to water emergencies.
Be sure to charge your cell phones as well as any portable chargers. Keep in mind that freezing weather may affect cellular service and could impact the ability to make calls and receive texts.
CenterPoint has secured an additional 1,200 mutual aid workers from VA, NC and FL to support potential restoration efforts and has set up three staging sites. They are driving into Houston tonight and will be ready to work by 6:00am tomorrow. CenterPoint has also increased staffing on their phone lines.
