Councilmember/Alderman Positions 1, 2, and 5 are scheduled for the City of Piney Point ballot on May 6, 2023.  Each member serves a two-year term.

Interested candidates may file for an application for a place on the ballot with Robert Pennington or Jose Gomez, Early Voting Clerks, during regular office hours 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, from January 18 – February 17, 2023, by submitting the required forms at Piney Point Village City Hall at 7676 Woodway, Suite 300; Houston, Texas 77063.  The deadline for candidates to file is 5:00 PM on February 17, 2023.  

The Application for a Place on the Ballot and Appointment of a Campaign Treasurer by a Candidate are available under Candidacy Requirements.  Additional information and these printed copies of the forms will be available and can be picked up at Piney Point Village City Hall.

In order to file for Councilmember/Alderman by the deadline, a candidate must submit the following forms:

Application for a Place on the Ballot

Appointment of a Campaign Treasurer by a Candidate

 

Voting By Mail:

Applications for ballots by mail must be received no later than April 25, 2023 by 5:00 o'clock p.m.

To be eligible to vote by mail in Texas, one of the following criteria must apply:

- be 65 years or older;

- be sick or disabled;

- be out of the county on election day and during the early voting period; or

- be expected to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day; or

- be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible

Election 2024

The Mayor, Council Position 3 and Council Position 4 will be on the Piney Point Village ballot on May 4, 2024.  Each member serves a two-year term.

Interested candidates may file for an application for a place on the ballot with Robert Pennington, Early Voting Clerk, during regular office hours, from January 17 – February 16, 2024 by submitting the required forms at 7676 Woodway, Suite 300, Houston, Texas 77063.

The deadline for candidates to file is 5:00 PM on February 16, 2024.
