Storm Update - Wednesday 5/22/2024

Dear Piney Point Village Residents,

We are glad to hear that CenterPoint has restored power to the majority of Piney Point Village residents as of last night. We know many of you are still without power.  Crews continue to be out today, working quickly and efficiently throughout our City, with the MVPD escorting and blocking streets to allow them to expedite repairs.

CenterPoint may need access to side and backyards. If you have a damaged pole/wiring or fallen tree, please keep your driveway clear and space near the area accessible. Repairs may be delayed if they can’t access, especially if you live in a heavily wooded area. Make sure you’ve reported your damaged tree on power lines to CenterPoint at 713-207-2222. They need to bring out their own crew to handle the trimming.

The City and CenterPoint are communicating frequently. CenterPoint’s interactive map still shows May 22 for power restoration in our area. We know of instances where power was restored, but had to be turned off due to sparks on the line or another unique situation.

Regular recycling pickup has been delayed until tomorrow, May 23.  Regular trash pickup continues.  County crews have already started picking up storm debris and will continue to over the coming weeks.  MVPD is compiling a master list of debris pickup to send to the County. They’ve asked residents to email  with Piney Point, Your house number and street name. Ex. Piney Point 1111 Shadow Way

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in getting all of Piney Point Village back to full power!
