Harris County Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey’s Office and Houston METRO have shown their commitment to serving the Villages by funding the design and construction of much needed asphalt roadway rehabilitation for our area. Crews will begin asphalt rehabilitation along Memorial Drive to improve pavement conditions, enhance safety, and extend the life of the roadway. Work will include milling and resurfacing the existing asphalt pavement, along with localized base repairs as needed. This is a maintenance project only. The roadway will remain within its existing footprint. There are no plans for roadway expansion, widening, or lane additions. The project is intended to preserve the current roadway configuration and maintain the corridor's established residential character. Construction may begin as early as February 23, 2026, pending issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Once underway, the project is expected to last approximately 222 calendar days. Residents should expect temporary lane closures and traffic control measures during active construction. Access to homes, schools, and businesses will be maintained at all times. Harris County will provide regular updates regarding lane closures and construction progress, and the City will assist in sharing information to ensure residents remain informed. This $2.5 million investment supports the continued maintenance, safety, and long-term performance of Memorial Drive. Additional updates will be provided as scheduling is confirmed.
