Generator Application

Welcome to the Generator Permit Application for the City of Piney Point Village. This form must be completed by licensed contractors seeking approval to install or modify standby generators within city limits. The purpose of this application is to ensure that all generator installations meet local building codes, safety standards, and zoning regulations, while maintaining the integrity and aesthetics of our residential community.


Please provide accurate and complete information as requested. Incomplete applications may result in delays of your submission. All required documentation, including site plans, surveys, approvals, and equipment specifications, must be attached at the time of sub-mission.

Generator Permit Application The Generator permit application is required for any new or replacement of a generator. The Generator Permit must include the fee for the generator and the concrete pad. Click here to submit an on-line Generator Application
Electrical Permit Application The Electrical permit must include the electrical work only associated with the generator. Click here to submit an on-line Electrical Application
Plumbing Permit Application Plumbing permits can be submitted with your generator packet but not required. Plumbing contractors can submit their permit after the Generator has been approved. Click here to submit an on-line Plumbing Application
Copy of the Survey A copy of an existing survey is required with this application request. Survey copies do not need to be brand new.

Generator Pad Location Acknowledgement Must include all generator distances. The generator can be 18 inches from the structure depending on the generator’s manufacture specifications. Depending on the size of the generator, the distance from the structure may be greater. Please upload the Generator Pad Location Application.

Homeowner Affidavit Form This form is required to be completed even If there’s no active Homeowner Association. If in an active Homeowner Association neighborhood, you must have HOA approval via email or stamped approval.

MVWA Approval The Memorial Village Water Authority must approve your generator application. Please upload the MVWA application. MVWA Application
CenterPoint Approval CenterPoint must approve your generator application to ensure the property, and the street can meet the electrical load demands for the new generator. CenterPoint no longer permits the installation of two meters; only meter upgrades are now allowed. Please upload the approved CenterPoint Application.

Foundation Concrete Pad Details Please provide the concrete pad specifications. If this is a prefabricated concrete pad that comes with the generator, let the city know. If installing an elevated generator, refer to the elevated generator notes Please upload detailed Foundation Drawing.
